Q: Is it normal to be thinking about sex a lot? I feel like society makes it so we shouldn’t talk about it, but I genuinely have so many questions about sex and I don’t know when it’s appropriate to ask them.

A: It's totally normal to think about sex a lot — it's also totally normal to not think about sex a lot! Everyone's sex drive is different, and especially when your body is going through all the changes of puberty (and possibly second puberty for my trans friends) the amount that you think about sex might increase or decrease. Society definitely stigmatizes conversations about sex, but it's super important for us to be able to talk about sex and get questions answered by professionals (like us at All About Sex Ed!) who can help you figure things out and connect you to resources to make sure you're being healthy and as safe as possible no matter how you choose to engage with sex. This site is an appropriate and safe place to ask questions of all kinds, including questions about sex.
